This report describes the results from an analysing using synthetic seismic data. The United States Delegation to the Committee on Disarmament Ad Hoc Group of Seismological Experts has provided us with a synthetic data set, which can be used to test and evaluate existing methods for the association of station arrivals into an event list, and to examine the accuracy of the event parameters so determined. The results obtained are throughout the report compared with the US results obtained with the same set of data but with two different methods. As the correct event solution is known when sythetic data are used, it is possible to make a very thorough examination of the bulletins. Hence, the results and comparisons will serve a very important basis in chosing a standard procedure to be used by international data centers.
