An experimental investigation was performed to see whether brush discharge can ignite mixtures of sulphur and oxygen-enriched-air. This work was performed as a step towards determining whether brush discharges are capable of igniting dust-air-mixtures. The present work has been financed by companies and authorities participating in the DESPOR (Dust Explosion Safety in the Process Industry) program.
