Abstract Different methods have been investigated för measuring the heat flux from the unexposed side of a specimen during furnace testing. These different methods are described in the report. The methods are two different devices one modified version of the calibration element for furnace testing termed - one passive and one active heat flux meter Experience with the different methods is summarised and recommendations for their use in practical testing situations are given.
