Part I Presents a general discussion of medical disaster planning, Emergency Health Service (EHS) organization, potential attack environments and casualty care requirements. The elements of the EHS are all discussed in terms of applocation during any one of the possible different types of attack Basic Operating Situations (BOS). Part II A concept of planning for Emergency Medical Operations during and immediately after a nuclear attack. It covers the aspects of medical manpower medical supplies and medical facilities and how they could be interrelated during emergency operations. Substantial emphasis is given over to Increased Readiness activities during a crisis build up period.
