ABSTRACT This report contains a descriptive analysis of the nuclear power emergency preparedness organisations in Sweden. The focus is placed on tasks and functions within these organisations during their information management and decision: making activities and also on the interdependence of the different organisations in obtaining and sharing adequate information. A technical and administrative scenario is described for a nuclear power plant accident leading to a General Emergency. Data for the scenario description has been collected during emergency drills in Sweden and is presented with the purpose to illustrate the information management activities in the organisations and also to show where information management problems is likely to occur and where the use of modern information technology could be beneficial.
