The aim of this study was to determine whether fire-fighter instructors are capable of performing a simulated rescue task after undertaking a live fire training exercise. Ten instructors performed a rescue task on 2 occassions, the first acted as a control and was conducted when they were euhydrated and normothermic. The second task was undertaken 10 min after a live fire-fighting training exercise resulting in an average deep body temperature of 38,1°C.
