For planning fire service emergency cover has a new process been developed. It has being trialled in 11 brigades. These brigades were invited to consider the lessons which they have learnt  from these trials, their findins, and the impact they thought implementation of this process would have within their area. Pathfinder brigades have in general found the proposed new Fire Service Emergency Cover planning process does do what is required of it, although they do suggest ways in which it could be improved. They have, however, little confindence in the results which have been produced, primarily because of doubts about the Worst Case Planning Scenarios.
