Report on a study of the transportation pattern for chemicals in the Baltic Sea Area and the related hazards for the marine environment, carried out under the auspices of the Combatting Committee of the Commission in 1987 to 1989. Within the framework of the Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission - Helsinki Commission - a Study of the Risk for Accidents and the Related Environmental Hazards from the Transportation of Chemicals by Tankers in the Baltic Sea Area has been prepared in accordance with the decision by the Commission. Sweden has acted as Lead Country in the preparation of this Proceeding and the preparatory work has been done by Dr Björn Looström, Swedish Coast Guard and Mr Börje Stenström 3K Engineering AB, Sweden.
