Flow at vents is the major driving force in smoke transport models. The precision with which we can calculate these flows determines to a great extent how accurately we can model buoyant flow and the inherent speed of these models.
This report describes some of the problems encountered in calculating these flows, and gives a general algorithm for their calculation.
